Hi, my name is Rebecca! Work-wise, I’m passionate about data-driven decision making and helping companies launch new initiatives.
I work in the legal department at JPMorgan Chase, evaluating new technologies and assisting with data strategy. Prior to this, I led two product verticals at ValuePenguin, a New York based startup helping consumers make better financial decisions. My role had me spearheading all non-mortgage loan content, tools, and strategy for the website.
Previously, I worked at Ernst & Young (EY) helping companies with implementing better data governance and management strategies. I graduated with a Master’s in Information Management with a specialization in Data Science from the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University in May 2014. Before that, I attended Emory University and received a BA in French Lit and a minor in economics in 2011.
I’ve also been volunteering with an amazing non-profit, New York on Tech (NYOT) since 2014. NYOT provides mentorship and development opportunities for underserved NYC high school students interested in technology. Students participate in technical and professional development workshops as well as site visits to companies such as Pandora, Twitter and LinkedIn. For the past few years, I’ve also had the privilege of serving on the mentorship council, which oversees programming and logistics.
Outside of work, I love to travel whether it’s a destination half way across the world or one state away. I document all of my adventures on my Instagram account, and I love hearing from others about their travel stories and recommendations. In the past few years, I’ve traveled to Scotland, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Croatia, Cambodia, Brazil, and Argentina, and I have plans to travel through more of Asia in the next few years.
